Come along to Chimes - Bath's leading open mic poetry night. Since July 2023 we have been bringing performance opportunities and some of the UK's best poets to spoken word enthusiasts in Bath.

This extra special double bill celebrating the Curious Minds festival, presents the stellar Sophie Dumont & Malaika Kegode, as well as our traditional open mic!

About Sophie Dumont:

Sophie Dumont is a Bristol-based writer and editor. She grew up in Bath and lives with her beloved elderly terrier. Her debut collection Sculling was published by Corsair in October 2025 and has since featured in the Guardian, Sunday Times Style and Financial Times. Her poetry won the Brian Dempsey Memorial Prize and she's held writing residencies along Bristol Harbourside and Exeter Quay.

About Malaika Kegode:

Malaika Kegode is an award-winning writer, performer and creative producer based in Bristol. Her work spans poetry, theatre and radio, including the critically acclaimed gig-theatre show Outlier. Her work has been performed at venues such as Southbank Centre and Lyric Hammersmith, championing unheard voices and rural stories through creative collaboration.

Open mic slots will be available on the door.
