Harriet Evans has been called ‘the queen of the big house saga’. Her latest novel, The Treasures, was published in June 2025 and is the first in a trilogy about a house and a family over 50 years. Before becoming a writer she was an editor, working first for Penguin then for Hodder Headline. Last year, as Harriet F. Townson, she published her first crime novel, a 1930s murder mystery called D is For Death, the first in a series featuring detective Dora Wildwood. In 2021 she was elected to the Management Committee of the Society of Authors and campaigns for transparency over AI in creativity. She lives in Bath with her family and loves jumpsuits, Jane Austen, and karaoke.
